Our community (Stanley Mission) is located on the banks of the Churchill
River. We claim Nistowiak Falls and the Holy Trinity Anglican Church
(the oldest church in Saskatchewan) as our own.

This is a picture of an old school, here in Stanley Mission. It was taken in the early 1960's.
It was under provincial control.
In 1972, the Lac La Ronge Band
took over the education system.

Our new elementary school opened in August of 1997. Up to that point we
shared facilities with the high school. We became known as the "lemontree"
school to many people - not being used to the word "elementary".
We are looking for information on the "5 dancing ladies" depicted
on the front of our school and also on the rug hung in the front area
of our school. If you know the story of "our ladies"
please contact Laura Beznoska, Maggie Neufeld, or Ronnie McKenzie
at the school (635-4641)
